Episode 6 - Discover what we have done so far!

Welcome to the whole C1 adventure! In this blog post we are going to put together all the experiences we shared together during our 1º training course, hosted in Sermugnano, Italy. In 5 days we made something really incredible happen: we created our own games, we prepared ourselves for the pilot coming and we shared our own visions about how to engage people together via games.

It’s amazing to realize how much can be accomplished in 6 days with a great support and guidance. For us, that was provided by our facilitators, Mafalda and Regina from Muovimente Cooperativa  Sociale  and Innova Form.

Our greatest challenge was to come up with a flexible structure that will guide us all into the next step of our journey, facilitating workshops of Game Based Development with youngsters from our own countries (aka PILOT). DAY 1

😳The first day was very engaging, we started with a walk around the beautiful village of Sermugnano and learned about the community.

📗We spent the rest of the day discovering about the #youthforyouth journey, the program content and, of course! Playing games! (Quite impossible ones tho 😜)

DAY 2
​
🌻The second day aimed at stimulating our group’s creativity and sharing knowledge and experience.
We started the day by talking about our favorite games and creating a game ourselves in just 30 minutes!

🌚The rest of the day was about exploring important elements of games but also significant definitions such as gamification, game based learning, serious games and educational games.

⭐️The day closed with a short presentation of each partner organization and their super powers!

DAY 3
​
This day was full of creative power! Starting from the reflection about the values we want to promote in our games we navigate into the sustainable development goals, to match our games with them.

🌝🐾Then we jump into the creative rally to go deeper into the topics we choose to finish with a little bit of plot twist while merging the teams for our final destination: creating a game!😉

DAY 4

​The partners got into the real job, as they had to design, divided into 4 teams, their own prototype games based on some of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’ s) adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. The chosen SDG’ s were Extreme Poverty, Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities and Climate Action.

⭐️The day was full of inspiring talking, creative thinking, colors and materials combined all together for the practical implementation of the 4 games!

DAY 5

Our journey in Sermugnano reached the final round! Imagine, after 4 days of intense game creation, interesting challenges and new inputs, we started play testing 🤩our own games!🤩 And that was exciting but also the best way to understand better our own creations and improve them, thanks to all the feedback from our participants.
